PACA, is a group of volunteers, who work with the city and county to add Christmas decorations around the downtown square. They also added a Christmas tree of lights on the courthouse lawn, which makes a great backdrop for family photos. The youth of the Versailles Community Betterment (VCB) organization received a Grant from Missouri Community Betterment to help in purchasing yard tools and painting supplies for the “2022 Community Partners Weeks” project. This project brought the entire VCB together in coordination with local volunteer youth organizations from the Versailles community and from several surrounding communities. Involved groups included youth and church youth groups from surrounding communities that have volunteered to do “local missions” including 3MT (Mid Missouri Missions Team). Great job VCB youth!!

Houston High School's Community Betterment Youth Group received a mini grant from Missouri Community Betterment in 2022.They started an initiative called Fresh Start Foster Bags. They hope to reach out to foster children that are being moved from one placement to another. Children seldom come with any type of traveling luggage. These bags will be for ages “infant” to teenagers and will include items such as; personal hygiene products, journals, and resource pamphlets; allowing the recipients to be able to contact someone in case of an emergency. They will be placed in areas such as the Police Department, schools, and the Department of Social Services Offices. The bags will be given to the child to keep so they can transport their own personal items with dignity.
